Watery Washing Line.


You can print this page (the background colours will not print) and then use the image and the cut outs to play the game!

1. Place a picture in each large box and a sign in each triangle to make a sum.


2. For each picture, write the volume of water it represents in the rectangle underneath the picture.


3. Calculate the answer to the sum and write it in the circle.

Dripping Tap - 80 litres

Automatic washing machine - 90 litres

Automatic dishwasher - 40 litres

Running Tap - 600 litres (in 2 hours)

Electric shower - 30 litres (60 litres for a power shower)

Garden hose pipe or sprinkler - 900 litres

Brushing teeth using running water - 4 litres

Brush teeth with taps off - 1 litre

Flushing the toilet - 7.5 litres per flush

Full bath - 80 litres

Washing hands under a running tap - 15 litres

Washing hands in bowl or sink - 5 litres

Clean car using a bucket - 25 litres

Clean car using a hosepipe - 500 litres
